I mowed the grass this weekend with our slow push mower. When I walked past our larger peach tree, I was surprised by a wonderful aroma of peaches! I hadn't even noticed that the peaches were forming before, but there they were.
Of course that made me inspect the other trees, and sure enough the pears were looking good as well.
The pears look red when they are young, but then turn green later on. We have had a great harvest from this pear tree for the past few years.
Next was my biggest surprise. Down from the pear tree we planted a new peach tree just last Mother's Day and it also had fruit forming. Even though this peach tree is still ten times smaller than the other peach tree, it's peaches are already larger!
Lastly, here is a picture of this new peach tree with the pear tree behind it. In the background, looking through the pear tree is the larger peach tree by the house.
I hope we get lots of peachs and pears this year!
Remember, tomorrow is Tomato Tuesday. I will put something about tomatoes on and then post the Tomato Tuesday meme. So if you have recently posted about tomatoes, be sure to come by, sign in and place your link to it. And if you are reading this on Monday, you still have time to join in on tomorrow's Tomato Tuesday by posting about tomatoes today or tomorrow.
So until tomorrow, keep growing!
