Wow 75 tomato plants. It is a hard number for me to get my mind around since I only have 12.

I agree, you have to watch the forecasts carefully for post-Mother's Day frost. I just left my container plants out overnight for the first time yesterday. I hope the cold is behind us now.

Good save. You should try a Siberian tomato for grins and giggles. Mine survived temperatures below 32 for two nights in a row. I could not believe it myself.

hi...i just found your blog and now i feel like an idiot! i just built my first raised beds this year and i decided to rig them up so i could use PVC hoops. take a look at mine when you get a chance so you can see what i did. now i see how you built yours and i am sitting here thinking...duh...why didn't i think of that? hehe! live and learn. i will be following you because obviously i have a lot to learn. i had a chance to use the hoops a few nights ago when we dropped to 31. today is reached 87. crazy!

Great thinking! Fast and effective solution, using scrap lumber and plastic sheeting to make a tee pee.

I'm always in such a hurry to get the growing season off to a start. It is tempting to plant out too early. But they all catch up with each other in the end.

Tim

I'm just alittle south of you and we did get a light frost but not much. Luckily I am so far behind this year I didn't have anything planted yet, but I took care of that the last couple of days between showers.

good info. that's the challenge in 4 season country but not in my country (two seasons). our main problem is pest diverse.
